Rogue Velo 10-14 Juniors Assault on Virginia Road Race Championships

Rogue Velo Juniors arrived at Miller School ready to race putting 4 riders into the 10-14 road race.  The race like last year was held at Miller School providing a very hilly 16 mile course.  The group was together right up until the first climb of the day.   Adam Croft and Tyler Smith just back from podium finishes at Nationals MTB decided to make a move.  This split the field with the leader group of 4 followed by the first chase group of 2 Dominion Cycling riders and the second chase group of Casey and Elijah.  The rest of the field was split up with Haydn now sitting in 3rd and James sitting in 4th on the road in the 10-12 group.

Casey and Elijah shared pulls which allowed Elijah to increase his lead in the 10-12 group and help his team mate Casey pull back the riders ahead.  They caught the Dominion boys and soon dropped one of the Dominion riders.  The next hill both Elijah and Casey couldn’t follow as they put too much into the chase and the Dominion rider would later finish the day 3rd on the Podium.  Haydn and James at this point were in time trial mode protecting their position on the road.
